Focus on the good
The news recently is filled with a barrage of seemingly urgent stories. Whether we like the news or decry it, it probably has garnered our attention.
Many of the stories tend to have a polarizing effect on folks. We may get excited and heavily invested in what is going one.
Our attention has power. Take the example of a child having a tantrum. The child’s noise levels likely increase as they receive more attention.
That’s not to say we should ignore a screaming child or look away from current events. But we can allow our attention to be a bit more detached. The emphasis is more on tactical response and less on emotional investment.
We’re also likely to manifest more of what we shower with emotional attention. If we don’t want to experience more polarizing scenarios, it will help to focus on what we do want instead.
When we focus on what is good in life, whatever that might mean for us personally, we help it come more fully into being. Our loving and grateful focus helps the good to grow.
Today’s message reminds me to be keenly aware of and thankful for the good in my life right now. By nurturing the good in my life, I make life better in and around me.
Please reflect and share. What good might you focus on right now?
