Goodness
Some days we struggle to find good things in life. It may seem were surrounded by negativity and ugliness, particularly on the political front. We’re disagreeing with each other loudly and often impolitely, if not downright meanly.
We need to look for goodness in what is. We can certainly find small things that are good and hopeful. Spring bulbs starting to pop up and bloom. A satisfying cup of coffee or tea. A happy chat with a friend. Time spent with loved ones, human or otherwise.
But sometimes that may not feel like enough. It may seem that the ugliness outweighs the goodness. How do we navigate that space?
When we can’t find goodness in life, we need to create it. Kindness—to ourselves, to others regardless of their apparent differences—is a great start. When we’re kind and loving in our approach to all life, life seems a bit brighter and happier.
Today’s message encourages me to generate the goodness I want to find in life. Benevolence is always uplifting.
