NOTES FROM THE AWARENESS: 764

Nostalgia can be tricky.

We all have fond memories, remembrances of past people or events that shine in our minds. And happiness is a good thing, whether it’s based on a present experience or memories of a long-ago situation.

Sometimes we may focus only on the most pleasant aspects of a scenario from the past. This isn’t necessarily bad. Focus on what makes us feel happy is often healthy.

However, if we are making current choices based on selective memory of the past, we risk deciding with incomplete data. Our nostalgia can prevent us from considering all the relevant details.

Today’s message reminds me to be even-handed in my remembrances. When I see the past impartially, it is of the most value to me.

Please reflect and share. What are your memories of the past predominantly like?
