Focus on priorities
We all tend to be a bit distracted, sometimes more than others. With the immediacy of the internet and social media, the pace of our lives can be accelerated. It also can be cluttered with lots of extraneous information/disinformation.
It’s easy to get the “shiny object” syndrome. The latest trend or development can grab our focus all too readily.
While we likely have some idea of what we want and need to have a good life, it can be challenging to keep our awareness on our priorities.
Emotional hot button issues can also trigger us into an immediate reaction. We may act without evaluating whether our choice serves our goals.
There’s a relatively easy solution to this problem. Conscious breath. When we breathe in a relaxed fashion, let our bodies and minds slow down, and then remember what really matters to us, we’re more likely to choose what is in our best interests.
Today’s message advises me to up my focus on my priorities. When I’m more dialed into what I want and need, I’m likely to have a higher quality life. It will help me to do this several times each day.
Please reflect and share. Do you periodically take a break and review your priorities?
