Inspire yourself

Some days can feel flat to us. Life can seem a bit hum drum or unexciting. Or life may be just fine but somehow, we feel a bit disconnected from it.

Either way, it can be difficult to summon enthusiasm for or enjoyment in everyday life.

This disaffection can occur when we’ve exhausted ourselves. If we’re burnt out, we simply don’t have the energy to participate fully in life.

Or we may have gotten out of the habit of connecting spiritually. When we’re simply focused on the mundane, we lose our capacity to wonder and be charmed by life.

Trauma, grief, or illness can also leave us feeling down and dispirited. Overwhelming emotions or physical or mental disability can remove our ability to interact joyfully with existence.

We have, in all these circumstances, lost our ability to be consciously connected with the divine. The difficulty of our present situation may prevent us from remembering who we are.

Feeling the wonder of being an interconnected part of Creation feeds our mojo. It allows us to tap into the resources of all Creation in living our lives. It helps us to feel whole and blessed.

Today’s message reminds me that whenever I feel meh about life, I have the power to change how I perceive existence. By engaging in activities I know to reconnect me to the divine—walks in nature, meditation, gardening, playing with my pets, listening to uplifting music—I can prime the pump of my own inspiration.

Please reflect and share. What do you do to inspire yourself?
