Rest stop not roadblock.
We all encounter them, sudden stops in our progress or impediments to our plans. It’s frustrating and seems so unnecessary.
But what if it isn’t? What if the halt is somehow—even though we don’t understand why—to our benefit?
A pause in progress can be like a rest stop on a driving trip. We can eliminate things we don’t need or no longer want to carry. We can refuel ourselves and strengthen our ability to proceed in the future. Or we can rest (an undervalued commodity) and ponder and alternative route.
Today’s message suggests that what I’ve been considering a hindrance may actually be a blessing. When I allow myself to savor involuntary pauses, I wring all the value out of the situation.
Please reflect and share. What roadblock have you recently encountered?
