NOTES FROM THE AWARENESS: 505

Someone always has it worse than we do.

Please reflect and share. How does this play out for you?

Some days just feel shitty to us. Accidents, illnesses, personal strife, unexpected expenses, and losses all can seem to derail our lives. The days when difficult events occur can feel unbearable. And sometimes we seem to be mired in a series of unfortunate events.

It’s easy, in our pain, to get lost in self-pity. Things can just feel so hopeless and hard.

Looking around us to note other people and their personal trials can be instructive. It’s not that we ill wish anyone or take pleasure in their challenges. But seeing their struggles can lend perspective to our own. Likely we’ll notice someone who has severe problems. By comparison, our own hardships may not seem so extreme.

Today’s message instructs me to be grateful for the issues I have. Things could be so much worse. I’ve attracted the difficulties I do have to help me learn how to create a happier life for myself. The lessons start with gratitude for the life I have right now.

How about you? Are you thankful for your life as it is?
