Power comes from not resisting.
Please reflect and share. How does this play out in your life?
We may feel disempowered when people or events seem to control us. Our natural reaction may be to resist the perceived domination. We can feel powerless if we don’t take action against it.
And yet, in focusing our energy on resistance we diminish our ability to act for what we do want. When we lend our efforts to fighting back, we hamper our capacity to move forward and out of the limiting situation. Our attention and energy is tied to what we don’t want by our resistance.
Today’s message advises me that ignoring, sidestepping, and shifting focus can sometimes be more powerful than resisting. My options are limited by another’s control only when I permit it. Acting—in all circumstances—for what I want always strengthens me.
How about you? What’s your relationship with resistance?
