Talent + effort + attitude = prowess
Please discuss. How does this play out in life?
I’ll start us out. We all have things we’re quite good at—jobs, hobbies and crafts, artistic pursuits, physical activities. Some of these things were easy for us to master, some took more effort, and some we became proficient at simply because we never gave up.
We developed some of these skills because they fascinated us. Others we were required to learn. Some were practical acquisitions. We’ve become proficient in them and they’ve benefitted us by feeding us mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. In a pragmatic sense, they may also put food on our tables. We’ve parlayed a combination of talent, effort, and attitude into a way to better our lives.
Today’s message reminds me that any time is a good time to develop a new skill or two. If something interests me, whether or not I’m naturally adept in the area, it will be to my benefit to explore it further. Any lack of talent can be overcome with additional effort and positivity. The seemingly least likely pursuit—my animal communication, for instance—can develop into a major benefit in my life. Expanding my prowess adds value for me and the rest of the world.
How about you? What unlikely skill has turned into a boon for you?
