Notes From The Furlough: Day 82

Tremendous gains are made in the face of least resistance.

Please discuss. How does this play out in life?

I’ll start us out. So often we find it takes a major shakeup—illness, death, job loss, relationship breakup—to push us into a new path in life. 220 has provided many of us with impetus to alter our life direction. We’re coping with the changes as best we can, but it can be challenging not to regret our revised circumstances. We may even wish they could be reversed.

Today’s message reminds me that resistance is both futile and unproductive. When I try to deny an unwanted change, I’m stuck. I can’t go back—the situation has shifted and cannot return to exactly what it was—and I can’t move forward effectively while focused on the past. If I am willing to accept what is, exactly as it is (note the verb is accept, not like), I’m free and clear to pursue a new direction with all my energy and attention. Love live the acceptance!

How about you? How do you deal with inner resistance?
