Return of the light
Tomorrow marks the Winter Solstice; after that days start getting longer. We’ll have a little more sunlight each day until the beginning of summer.
Most of us are grateful for the extra natural light. It can help us feel more energetic and uplifted.
For many of us, fall and the time leading up to the election—regardless of our political persuasions— was a bit of a challenge. We may have felt angry or scared. It’s likely that we experienced some sort of negative emotions around politics.
Now a good time to celebrate and encourage the return of our own personal light. We can step out of anger and judgement and into the light of our own compassion, respect, and positive aspirations.
When we emphasize feeling sunny and pursuing health and happiness for ourselves and others too, we help lighten up the world. Now is the time we can return to the best versions of ourselves.
Today’s message invites me to shine my inner light a bit more brightly this winter. By being hopeful, kind, and understanding, while wishing and supporting the best for all folks, I can share my light with the world.
Please reflect and share. How might you return to your own personal light?
Feel free to enjoy this guided meditation to celebrate the return of the light, especially your own. It’s on Youtube and is available to you at any time.
