Rest makes us more effective.
We hear a lot of talk about grinding and its benefits. Working hard and steadily and pushing oneself are glamorized, with the promise that strong, steady effort will bring rewards.
But this isn’t always the case. When we push ourselves, perhaps past our reasonable limits, we tend to lose focus and proficiency. Our performance suffers, and the additional energy expended may not yield proportional progress.
When we work hard and then rest, we recover our physical stamina, clear our heads, and refresh our mindset. The break sharpens us for renewed effort.
Today’s message reminds me that rest is part of an effective gameplan. When I take all actions to ensure I will be at my best, including resting, I’m more likely to achieve what I want.
Please reflect and share. Is rest part of your usual gameplan?
