NOTES FROM THE AWARENESS: 516

Value is relative.

Please reflect and share. How does this play out for you?

We have a sense of what really matters to us—whom and what we love, what we’re passionate about, what it’s vital to have present in our lives. Oddly enough, this list and ranking doesn’t seem to match anyone else’s. For whatever reason, their priorities are different than ours.

This divergence can lead us to be frustrated and judgmental. If only others shared our values, life would be easier and simpler. We may forget that they likely have a similar reaction toward us. What’s important to us may seem trivial and inconsequential to them.

Today’s message reminds me that my values aren’t universal. We all have unique takes on what’s important and they are all correct…for each of us individually. I can only live in alignment with my priorities and recognize others must live in accordance to theirs. My values really only matter to me.

How about you? What’s important to you?
