Please reflect and share. How does this play out for you?
We have a habit of looking forward to events we want—dates, parties, special occasions, vacations. We take pleasure in anticipation of them, sometimes more than in the event itself, which might or might not live up to our expectations.
In focusing on the future, we also may miss out on the everyday joys in front of us right now—conversations, sights, meals, activities. They may not be momentous, but nonetheless they can be enjoyable. We simply need to be present for them.
Today’s message reminds me to savor the good surrounding me right now. I honor creation by enjoying each moment of life as it occurs. My current joy contributes to the overall goodness of existence.
How about you? What goodness surrounds you right now?
