Life teaches us what we’re willing to see.
Please discuss. How does this play out in life?
I’ll start us out. Our lives are filled with many lessons, some harder than others. The most difficult are often the most valuable. With each successive learning, we gain insight, improving our coping skills and ability to enjoy life.
Sometimes it seems we encounter the same lesson repeated at intervals. What’s up with that? Isn’t once enough?
When life presents us with new growth experiences, we can only assimilate what we’re willing to take in. Hard-held beliefs, emotional or mental blocks, and denial can prevent us from fully digesting a lesson’s import. When this occurs, after some time has passed we may encounter similar circumstances again, offering us the opportunity to deepen our understanding.
Today’s message asks me to identify any familiar circumstances cropping up in my life right now. When did I last encounter something similar? How did I handle it then and what did I learn? How might I act/think/believe differently this time to further my growth? When I am willing to tweak and build on my learned responses, life become easier.
How about you How might you expand upon a previously learned lesson?
