What’s outside comes from the inside.
Please discuss. How does this play out in life?
I’ll start us out. The recent highly visible racial tensions in our country have caught some of us by surprise. To be sure, there were many, many, many instances of injustice ongoing over years and years and years. To those of us outside the direct experience of racial prejudice, they may have seemed like a series of isolated instances; we failed to connect the dots. It took a trigger event to bring the long-term issue into glaring public awareness. For those of us directly living that reality, it has been a long, hard, dangerous slog. Now finally, the more segregated inside experience has been perceptually transformed into a more widespread outside one.
Today’s message reminds me that the same process goes on inside me, as a microcosm. Parts of me are subject to repression and possible neglect or ill treatment by me because of misguided beliefs I hold about myself. If I do not address my inside subconscious conflicts, they will manifest painfully and undeniably in my outside daily reality. I need to go deep to heal the rifts and misperceptions. Absolute acceptance and love is the remedy.
How about you? How do you deal with inner conflicts and wounds?
