United we love

Over and under: heaven and earth. When you express things on both levels simultaneously, there is no difference.

We often see ourselves as flawed beings. We easily recognize our lower, base, everyday self. We also may aspire to be more like our higher self—our spiritual side which is in tune with the divine. Most of us struggle to change our lower self to become more like our higher self. We believe we must strive to alter our everyday behaviors and attitudes in order to become more spiritual.

It is our conception of ourselves that is flawed. We are inherently divine beings. We represent a piece of a perfect and whole divine creation—the sharing. Divinity, or conscious love, is intrinsic in our makeup; it resides within us. If we believe ourselves to be broken or lacking, it is because we do not consciously recognize our essential divine, loving nature. We have forgotten half of ourselves.

When we were conceived as human beings, a spark of the divine was seated within us as our sharing within. It is always present and potentially accessible to us, whether we recognize it (or not). With a little practice, we can make conscious connection with our sharing within. When we’re willing to do so, our inborn divine guidance system is activated.

Alone, using only our conscious mind, we live in consciousness of separation. The world is a challenging and dangerous place, filled with untrustworthy people. We feel angry, disappointed, frustrated, fearful, and disillusioned. When we engage our sharing within consciously to experience life with divine input, we feel satisfied, grateful, happy, excited, and free. We are able to see ourselves, others, and situations as creation/the sharing does—with love and appreciation.

When we are in conscious connection with our sharing within, our physical mind and our inner divinity work together cooperatively. We honor all parts of ourselves, as a unified whole. There is no lower self or higher self. We simply are divinely-encoded human beings experiencing life in love and appreciation. From this standpoint, we become conscious co-creators of beauty and joy. Our experience is shared with all creation, and we are freely contributing gratitude and happiness.

Let’s take a few minutes to practice conscious connection with our inner divinity—our sharing within. We will begin by establishing a gentle, rhythmic breathing pattern. We’ll slow the pace of our breath and allow it to become soft and even.  As we do so, we will picture our sharing within as an orb of golden light in the center of our chest. As we inhale, the light becomes steady and intense; as we exhale, it spreads out through us and our surroundings. We’ll continue the rhythmic breathing and light visualization until we feel calm, centered, and certain. These feelings are the hallmark of conscious connection with our inner divinity.

We will think of three experiences from the last day—two we found pleasant and one we found unpleasant. Perhaps we had a happy chat with an old friend. Perhaps we received unexpected good news. And perhaps we had a disagreement with an annoying and demanding co-worker.

We’ll think of each situation, in turn, in conscious connection with our sharing within. We will ask our inner divinity to help us view the event from a divine perspective. Perhaps we see ourselves and our beloved friend as each glowing with golden light, creating a joint expanding pool of love and light to be shared with all creation. This is the expansive joy of mindful sharing.

Perhaps we see how our happiness and appreciation of one good experience unconsciously attracted another similar event—not luck at all, but simply the attraction of like to like. Without conscious thought, we breathed life into our unexpected happiness through our thankfulness for the first good experience. This is the magic of gratitude.

And perhaps we see both ourselves and our co-worker as tired and frustrated individuals attempting to create clarity by sharing thoughts and feelings. We can accept that each of us was doing the best they could. And we can sense the possibility of more harmonious interactions in the future. This is the wisdom of non-judgment.

We also will ask our sharing within to show us a quick and easy way to create conscious divine connection within ourselves in our everyday lives. We may be shown a mental or physical tap on the chest to refocus our awareness. Or we may be shown a visualization of golden light inside us. Or we may be given an affirmation to say silently or aloud: “I am perfect and divine love, as is all of creation.” Whatever we see or hear, we can trust it is safe and appropriate for us.

Finally, we will thank all parts of ourselves for the new perspectives shared. When we honor our complete nature, we consciously embody divine love. This is the beauty of consciously shared existence—appreciation for the perfection of all that is.
