Leverage your uniqueness
Each of us is different. Each of us is special. We all are a unique blend of beliefs, thoughts, feelings, preferences, skills, and talents.
Society can and does pressure us to confirm to standards. This can be a good thing, like the taboos on murder and violence. But it also can cause us to deny our own individuality in order to belong and fit in.
There will never be another you and there will never be another me. We’re a limited engagement show, revealing ourselves to the world as art, within the confines of what we feel comfortable sharing.
Therein lies the issue. Many of us hide the good, juicy, interesting portions of ourselves from the world. Not only may this leave us feeling limited and dissatisfied, it also prevents the rest of the world from appreciating our true beauty.
When we share our authentic selves, our unique vision and sensibilities, we make life richer. We contribute the gift of ourselves to Creation, and we are all better for it.
Freeing our uniqueness to express itself also can be our path to personal fulfillment and perhaps even success. We have something no one else does. We can leverage our uniqueness to craft a good life for ourselves.
Today’s message reminds me that my unique self is invaluable. Sharing my individuality is an act of love for Creation.
