Believe in what you can do.

Most of us are aware of the concept of positive thinking. We may even use it in our everyday life. It can bolster our ability to accomplish.

Yet all of us likely also employ negative thinking around our abilities. “I could never do that.” “I’d never succeed at that.” “I don’t have what it takes to [fill in the blank].”

So, often we don’t even try. Our negative thinking becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy.

But what if we tried anyway? Yes, we might fail. The odds may even be against us. However, we just might be successful.

Certainly, if we never even try, we’ll never be successful.

This message is courtesy of my passed cat Shaman. A burly, chunky boy, he could leap five feet straight up into the air, while on a leash, to catch a bird. It was an effort his dense and short-legged body should never have been able to make.

But he tried it anyway and succeeded on several occasions. We called him the bumble cat because, like bumblebees, he shouldn’t have been able to fly. But he did anyway.

Today’s message from Shaman suggests to me that I need to believe that my inner light can power my efforts, however unlikely it seems they will bear fruit. Without the buoyance of my belief, they will never have the chance to get off the ground.

How about you? Do you believe your inner light gives you extra mojo?
