Release expectation and explore life.

Most of us have an idea of what we want our life to be like. We have dreams; we have goals. We hope events will bring us closer to our ideal.

Often, we may be disappointed. Life doesn’t work out quite as we expected or aspired. We are stuck with what is instead of what we wished for.

We may see this as a bad thing. However, frequently it may be neutral or even a positive turn of events. We simply aren’t ready to appreciate what is because it doesn’t match our expectations.

If we are willing to let go of our suppositions about what we need to be happy, we might very well find that we can have a good and pleasing life with what circumstances provide.

Today’s message invites me to seek out the succulent bits in what is and savor them. In exploring my world and mining it for joy, I discover more about myself and life in general, I become a prospector for happiness.

Please reflect and share. What unwanted event might you mine for treasure?
