The key to perfection is acceptance.
Please reflect and share. How does this play out in life?
We’re taught to strive for the ideal. As students, we’re urged to achieve perfect grades and have flawless attendance. Business promotes the concept of continuous improvement, the idea that we can always do better. We marinate in a culture of striving and grinding.
All this fosters the sense that we’re broken—translating as not good enough—and that life is imperfect. We’re left feeling inadequate and dissatisfied. We chase after goals, believing we’ll be happy when they’re reached. Somehow there is always something lacking or waiting to be achieved, and happiness is continually postponed.
Today’s message reminds me of the alchemical power of acceptance. When I lean into a situation, or at the very least don’t resist it, I can transform it from undesirable to kay and perhaps even beneficial. My key to joy is in celebrating and appreciating what is.
How about you? What role does acceptance play in your life?
