Notes From The Furlough: Day 39

Present concerns are opportunities for improvement.

Please discuss. How does this play out in life?

I’ll start us out. Most of us have had our lives upended by COVID-19. If we’re still employed, how and where and how often we are working may have changed. Our social and recreational habits have shifted. Our health regimens have altered. Finances look different. All of this uncertainty adds up to a giant opportunity to think outside the box. There is no “normal” theses days. (Perhaps there never was, but that is another discussion.) Any area of our lives that feels unstable and shaky right now represents a chance to reinvent ourselves.

The long-term future of my job seems undetermined to me. Airlines and travel are severely impacted by the virus and my work centers around these industries. I’m pondering how all my skill sets might be employed in different ways. My animal communication consults are done by phone, but what about the Reiki sharings and guided meditations I’ve hosted in the past? Can they be held remotely? What desired shits in my health routine do I now have free time to pursue? How can I rework my budget to reduce my outlay and simplify my life? All these opportunities and more are worthy of my attention, rather than me passively waiting for things to get better. I’m the integral ingredient in the improvement process?

How about you? What opportunities await you?
