NOTES FROM THE AWARENESS: 543

In your face often isn’t effective.

Please reflect and share. How does this play out for you?

We commonly believe the blatantly obvious should be easy to accept. The glaring reality of a situation, we might think, would guarantee its acknowledgment as fact. However, often that doesn’t seem to be the case. We may refuse to believe in something in the face of indisputable facts.

We struggle to grant credence when we have an emotional investment in a differing viewpoint. Our emotions can be stronger than our logic and clarity. Should someone attempt t convince us, it likely strengthens our resistance.

Today’s message advises I avoid trying to convert others with fixed opinions to see things my way. Being blunt will likely only increase their opposition. Any such effort is likely to frustrate both parties and change no one’s opinion. I really only have the power to change my own mind.

How about you? How do you deal with folks you feel are being wrongheaded?
