NOTES FROM THE AWARENESS: 462

Assumptions are often wrong.

Please reflect and share. How does this play out for you?

We usually try to make sense of life with incomplete data. Even when we think we have all the needed information, there likely are factors we’re not aware of. So we evaluate with only partial details.

This leaves us to interpret using past experience to fill in the gaps. The past may not be relevant to the current situation, but we perceive as if it is. Fear and judgment can play a large role in our assumptions.

Today’s message advises me that I don’t need to label and understand everything. My attempts to do so are likely to lead me to false assumptions, which may in turn cause further misunderstanding. The less I try to interpret events and others’ actions, the more I will perceive clearly.

How about you? Do you often make assumptions?
