NOTES FROM THE AWARENESS: 606

We underestimate our capacity to love.

Please reflect and share. How does this play out for you?

When we are burnt out, it can be hard to care. We may feel unable to do much more than put one foot in front of the other to proceed with what must be done and try to care for ourselves in whatever limited way we can. Extra consideration and empathy for others just doesn’t seem possible.

This illusion occurs because we see our love as arising from a finite personal reserve. While we certainly don’t want to feel obligated to care about others—love is a gift to be given willingly—we may wish to recognize that love connects us all and flows freely through us. When we give our caring joyfully, it will not deplete us.

Today’s message asks me to acknowledge that the source of all love is infinite. I may feel exhausted by caring when I resent the effort or believe I’m obligated to make it. When this occurs, I can resolve my inner conflict by choosing to alter either my perspective or my behavior. My freely given love is a tonic for both the recipient and me.

How about you? Do you believe infinite divine love flows through you?
