NOTES FROM THE AWARENESS: 1075

Impatience doesn’t hasten things.

We all feel frustrated at times with waiting for things. I know this well; patience is not one of my virtues.

When something, or more likely someone, seems to be taking longer than we feel is appropriate, we get uncomfortable. Discomfort can ripen into resentment. and soon we may be feeling out of sorts.

So, we haven’t gotten what we wanted or expected. Additionally, we’re unhappy while we wait.

In truth, impatience hurts us more than the target of our impatience. We make ourselves uncomfortable and likely get no shortening of the wait time.

Today’s message invites me to see patience as a form of self-care. When I’m cheerful and happy while I wait, my life is better in the in-between times.

Please reflect and share. Is patience one of your virtues?
