You’re in charge.

It can feel like so much of life is out of our control. Often, things may not be as we might wish, and we don’t know how to make them more the way we want them to be.

Religion or our spiritual beliefs may encourage us to surrender to a higher power. How can we possibly surrender and still have any vestige of control?

Here’s the paradox. The part of us that feels good being in control is our physical mind. We think we need to be in charge to be safe and get what we want.

However, we are intrinsically interconnected in the divine/Creation/higher power through our sharing within, or the splinter of divine consciousness housed within us.

When we surrender to a higher power, we are allowing our inner divine consciousness, as part of the whole divine consciousness, to guide us and the events of our lives. In this way, when we release our physical mind’s need to be in charge, we truly are in charge in a spiritual sense.

Today’s message reminds me to let go of the need to be in charge, so that I can unleash my ability to co-create with the divine. I am freer when I’m not limited by my physical mind’s ideas of what should be.

Please reflect and share. How much do you feel the need to be in charge?
