Our lessons come to us as we teach.

Please reflect and share. How does this play out in your life?

We all have gifts and wisdom to share. We do so both intentionally and unintentionally. Consciously, we may choose to teach our child how to baker killer chocolate chip cookies. Or we may unknowingly demonstrate generosity and compassion by example through our behavior.

When we intentionally set out to teach a skills or lesson, even though we have previous experience and expertise, we learn it ourselves at a deeper level. Explaining and demonstrating, we’re compelled to begin with basics and underlying principles. This review of what’s important refreshes our own understanding, preparing us to take it further for ourselves.

Today’s message urges me to share what I know and have learned, so that I can build upon it. When I teach, the momentum of ideas will prompt further realizations within me. The free exchange of teaching and learning opens me to giving and receiving gifts of knowledge.

How about you? What is your experience of teaching?
