Notes From The Furlough: Day 80

Celebrate what you have. It’s more than you think.

Please discuss. How does this play out in life?

I’ll start us out. The year 2020 has seen many things evaporate: Full social life, steady finances, employment, ease of travel and movement, mental/physical security. The nature of our daily existence has altered in ways that aren’t necessarily desired or comfortable. We’re learning to adjust, but still feel a sense of lack; we’re mourning what we’ve lost.

Today’s message reminds me to focus on what I have retained and what I’ve gained, as a result of the corona virus. I have been gifted with time to reflect, bolster my health, and change my focus. I’ve slowed down and the quality of my life has been enhanced as a result. I have found new friendships and had lovely quality time with my partner Nate Hall. Existing friends and family have been extra caring and kind. I’m not the same person that I was prior to COVID-19: the experience is refining my inner workings. I have so much to be grateful for today!

How about you? What blessings can you celebrate today?
