NOTES FROM THE AWARENESS: 1325

Many of us would like to believe that we’re rugged individualists. We value our freedom and independence.

We feel good when we can accomplish things on our own. We may try to do so, even when we’re a bit out of our depth.

While it is good to be largely self-reliant, it may not be healthy to frequently eschew asking for or getting help. Help avoidance can be due to mistrust or overly protective boundaries.

We may be afraid to show ourselves as vulnerable. It may feel better to us to struggle alone than to trust another to assist us.

When we allow others to help us, we are confident in our safety and personal value. We also give others the opportunity to be of service.

Today’s message reminds me that it’s okay to get help. I don’t need to do everything by myself. In giving and receiving help, I acknowledge divine interconnection.

Please reflect and share. Are you comfortable accepting help from others?
