NOTES FROM THE AWARENESS: 960

Define yourself kindly.

Some of us have a fairly good sense of who we are and what we’re about. Others of us are less clear on this.

If we don’t have a well-defined sense of self, we may default to how others perceive us. This can leave us living life according to someone else’s vision.

For those of us who feel we have a good idea ourselves, there is always the possibility that we’re basing our self-identity on past experiences. This can be unhelpful if the past we’re referencing isn’t positive. We may be defining ourselves based on painful experiences and personal mistakes.

It may be more useful to think of ourselves more in terms of our potential and our present and past positive accomplishments. We will want to focus on what we do want rather than what we’ve disliked.

Today’s message encourages me to create a mental resume for myself. I’ll want to make sure I include all my best aspects and talents and previous personal wins. When I view myself kindly, it will be easier to be the version of myself I might wish to be.

Please reflect and share. How do you define yourself?
