NOTES FROM THE AWARENESS: 483

We are each other.

Please reflect and share. How does this play out for you?

Face it: other people often annoy us and make choices and behave in ways we find incomprehensible. Mitigating factors—that we’re aware of—may not seem to account for their selfishness, foolishness, meanness, wrong-headedness, or folly. We just can’t fathom how they can knowingly do what they do.

Psychological projection can account for much of this. We bemoan traits in others that we harbor or have held in ourselves. We dislike that part of ourselves and project it outward so we can see it reflected in others. That way we can hate the behavior without having to change ourselves.

In divine reality, we are all interconnected in conscious love. We are separate from each other only in the same way that we draw lines on a map and assign meaning to them The arbitrary divisions are convenient for our purposes but have no actual significance.

Today’s message asks me to be slow and sparing in my judgments. Taking care of my own business will be more fruitful than wishing others would take care of theirs. When I am at peace with myself it is easier to be at peace with others.

How about you? Do you see yourself in others?
