NOTES FROM THE AWARENESS: 538

Most opportunities should be seized without too much thought.

Please reflect and share. How does this play out for you?

Life often offers what we want, but perhaps not exactly when we want it. Sometimes the timing of unexpected gifts seems inconvenient. We may feel the opportunity arises when we may not have the energy, time, or funds to best capitalize on it.

This can cause us to ignore the chance, figuring it will arise again in the future. And it just might, but the odds are that the future instance may feel just as untimely. Life tends to be full of distractions that easily cause us to miss out on the important things.

As my mother used to quote from a poem by Robert Herrick: “Gather ye rosebuds while ye may.” Opportunities can slip away all too easily.

Today’s message suggests I simply seize small-scale opportunities without much thought. Even larger opportunities may merit boldness. I will likely find regretting doing something less bitter than regretting not doing it. I’m grateful for the serendipitous gift, large and small, of Creation.

How about you? How do you receive opportunities?
