Facing any problem makes it easier.
Please reflect and share. How does this play out for you?
Sometimes issues are intimidating and we want to avoid acknowledging them or run away. We may not know what to do, may feel overwhelmed, or may have an overpowering emotional response to them. It seems so much simpler and easier to pretend the problem doesn’t exist. If we don’t admit to the issue, we don’t have to put any effort into it, right?
This often isn’t the case. We can put more energy into circumventing something we we would addressing it. The longer we delay dealing, the larger the issue looms. And meanwhile, we’re subject to sometimes subsurface, nagging feelings of dread. The unpleasantness will only go away when we take on the challenge.
That’s not to say handling the difficulty will be easy. But it will certainly go more smoothing if all our energy is devoted to the problem, rather than having wasted some of it in advance on negative anticipation and self-judgment.
Today’s message invites me to just start handling any situation I’ve been avoiding. Once it is dealt with, all my energy is freed to create what I want. I liberate myself by being willing to address my challenges.
How about you? How do you handle issues you’d rather avoid?
