NOTES FROM THE AWARENESS: 546

Death is merely a displacement.

Please reflect and share. How does this play out for you?

The COVID-19 pandemic has brought a greater awareness of death to us. There are additional measures we take to preserve our physical wellness. Many of us know at least one person who has passed from the virus. Mortality rates are up sharply in 2020 and 2021. Death is just more common.

This atmosphere has left many of us pondering the realities of life and death. What in our existence is truly important? Are the details of our lives in order? How do we want to live whatever span remains of our lives? And what is death like? What, if anything, happens next?

When we die, our physical bodies cease to function. They are no longer animated physical repositories for a spiritual presence. Our conscious essence, which we might think of as our soul, is no longer tied to our third-dimensional material existence. It has graduated into a new way of being, moved from one way of expression to another.

Today’s message reminds me that there is no final end. Something always survives, perhaps in a new fashion, perhaps recycled or repurposed. My life—or any other life—is never trivial or without meaning. The love and goodness it accrues is always preserved and present, just not perpetually in the same physical form. I am an eternal expression of divine, conscious love.

How about you? What’s your take on death?
