There are two basic schools of thought about what determines who we are: nature vs nurture. We tend to believe that we are products or our genetics, or products of our environment, or possibly some combination of the two. We don’t tend to think that we have a choice about who we are. We believe we are formed by forces outside our control.
The teaching of the sharing offers a different explanation—-in cooperation with our inner divinity (our sharing within), we generate the set, the script, the characters, the props, the costumes, and the audience in our theater of life. We do this so we can experience whatever we need most to help us understand our divine connection in the sharing (the universe). Our mindset about who we really are and why we are here determines what occurs in our lives.
In this way, we have a choice about what we experience and who we are becoming. If we don’t like what is going on in our lives, we can choose something different. When we view ourselves as divine, we learn to acknowledge the inherent divinity in everything and everyone around us. This understanding helps us see the essential beauty of all our life interactions, inspiring gratitude in us. Thankfulness attracts more things to us that we can appreciate. We like ourselves and our lives more, and we have more fun being here.
When we see ourselves as divinely interconnected with all existence, we own that we are beings who have all of creation at our disposal. We have the ability to craft ourselves and our lives in keeping with that belief. By acknowledging our true nature, we free our ability to consciously co-create our lives.
