NOTES FROM THE AWARENESS: 461

Self-acceptance is the only form of approval that really matters.

Please reflect and share. How does this play out for you?

Most of us wish to be appreciated by others for who we are. We want others to recognize our true natures and value them. If folks fail to see us truly and/or don’t acknowledge our worth, it hurts. We feel the need to be held in good esteem.

This needs arises because somehow inside, we are not sure of our own value. We project the inner uncertainty of our innate worth, which is then reflected back to us by others. Until we love ourselves unconditionally, we likely won’t find real acceptance from others. Once we do accept ourselves completely, others’ opinions about us cease to matter.

Today’s message advises me to detach from others’ evaluations of me. When I accept and approve of myself fully, I’m happy with who I am. Knowing my intrinsic value as part of an interconnected divine whole, I don’t need outside approval. I am good enough because I exist.

How about you? Do you feel the need of approval from others?
