Blend the boundaries.

Our comfort and happiness in life often relates to our personal boundaries. What we allow and permit and how we are treated depends on these self-defined limits.

Too few or weak boundaries allow us to be used in ways unhealthy for us. Too rigid or overly sturdy boundaries close us off from others, leaving us isolated and lonely.

The trick is to understand appropriate boundaries, ones that help us be in strong and healthy relationships with balanced give and take. The needed boundary tweaking usually is a result of unhappy experience with limits that didn’t work well for us.

Today’s message suggests I may benefit by softening a bit the boundaries I have set. When solving issues becomes more about us/our mutual benefit rather than me versus you, I’ll find myself happier and more relaxed more of the time.

Please reflect and share. Might you benefit from a review of your personal boundaries?
