All the we learn is the result of connection.

Please reflect and share. How does this play out for you?

We tend to emphasize the role of the conscious mind in our ability to learn. We reference regions of the brain, neurons, IQ, logic, observation, and repetition in our models of learning. But we don’t recognize the vital role of stimulus as much in our concepts of how learning works.

In order to learn, we need to experience something novel. The easiest way to do so is to encounter either something outside of ourselves or a part of ourselves not dominated by our conscious mind. We need to reach out beyond our usual thought patterns to gather new concepts, experiences, and skills. In essence, we require others to learn and expand.

Today’s message reminds me of the importance of connection—with my subconscious/soul, with others, with the divine/quantum field—in helping me to grow. Stimulus outside my normal thought patterns will spur me to open my mind and enhance my possibilities. In embracing new beings and ideas outside my normal patterns, I learn and honor the diversity of creation.

How about you? Do you value new experiences?
