Notes From The Unknown: Day 117

How we are willing to receive something is our choice. When we receive something depends on how we are willing to receive it.

Please discuss. How does this play out in life?

I’ll start us out. We all have goals we want to attain or experiences we want to get out of life. We also usually have a specific plan or script on how we’ll reach our target or be given what we want. As long as life goes according to our chosen map, we don’t experience conflict. But when events fail to match up with the steps we’ve plotted out in our mind, we feel thrown off course. We react emotionally—frustration, shame, feelings or worthlessness, a sense of entitlement, etc. It’s easy to get lost in our feelings, to the point that we struggle to deal with what is as opposed to what we think it should be. Our opposition keeps us stuck in a polarized situation; we can’t accept what is and therefore cannot move on. We’re stymied.

Today’s message reminds me that I don’t need to teach divine creation how to be inventive. I am an intrinsic part of the divine whole and I do have access to all of creation to help and support my dreams, but I don’t need to tell it how to do its job. If I order a hamburger from a restaurant, I don’t watch over the cook’s shoulder. I’m happy to have my desired meal delivered right to me. Similarly, if I would like to order a hamburger, but the restaurant has none in stock, I may be forced to choose something else. I may consequently discover that my substituted fried chicken sandwich hit the spot in a way that the burger could not have. In manifesting, I need to be flexible in allowing things to come to me in the best possible way, which may not be through the means I had envisioned.

How about you? How do you handle keeping out of the way, so creation can bless you?
