How you do something determines your level of satisfaction with the process and the results.
Please discuss. How does this play out in life?
I’ll start us out. Most of us believe we get out of something what we put into it. Generally, we tend to think of our investment as effort, how hard we try to make something happen. This is a reasonable assumption. We’re usually not handed things on a platter; we need to work at them.
There are more ways to invest ourselves in an outcome than money or physical and mental effort. We also can put our heart and soul into something, an emotional and spiritual contribution. While this type of input is not easily measured, it can be just as vital to a pleasing outcome. How we feel along the way to an achievement helps create our sense of satisfaction/dissatisfaction with the result.
Today’s message reminds me to find joy and contentment working on my current projects. It’s not enough to work hard. In order to get the best results, I’ll also want to work happy.
How about you? What emotional and spiritual relationship do you have with your goals?
