NOTES FROM THE AWARENESS: 1191

We may not need what we want.

We all have desires. Some of them are fulfilled while others seem to evade us. We may decry the lack of wish fulfillment. Why can’t we just have what we want.

Sometimes the things, folks, and scenarios we desire are good for us. Other times they aren’t so healthy. Or they may be superfluous to our well-being.

We all know, at least on a mental basis, that want and need aren’t always the same. But when we’re feeling stymied it can seem like life is denying us happiness.

Yet likely we’re preventing ourselves from being satisfied and content because we’re unhappily focused on something that isn’t currently available. When we can’t shift our focus, at least briefly, to being grateful for having our needs met, the gratitude may help us attract our desires if they become beneficial for us.

Today’s message invites me to do a careful examination of my needs versus my wants. Surely, I have everything I need right now to live a comfortable and fulfilling life.

Please reflect and share. What do you long for that might not be good for you?
