Make the world your Valentine!
Our society makes a lot of Valentine’s Day. We tend to think of the day as commemorating romantic love. For those of us with spouses and life partners, it’s a day to celebrate and be grateful for intimacy.
Yet love has so many other aspects. The Greeks had four major words for love and several minor ones. They recognized love for our children and relatives, friends, and humankind as a whole. We also love our pets, our communities, our coworkers, and the divine.
Today’s message asks me to love life with the same tenderness I share with my Valentine. I am created from divine love and honor this connection when I love all of my existence.
