NOTES FROM THE AWARENESS: 421

A step back offers a chance to re-evaluate.

Please discuss. How does this play out in your life?

We’d like our progress toward goals to be steady and seamless. We’re likely happy as long as we glide along smoothly in the desired direction. However, life usually moves forward in fits and starts. Two steps forward and one step back is an all too familiar pattern.

We can find this herky jerky rhythm to be frustrating and disappointing. Why can’t thing just progress steadily and easily? What the point of interruptions?

Today’s message reminds me of the value of taking a breather. When my personal momentum is blocked, I have the opportunity to review and tweak my approach. A halt in movement earlier in my progress also can prevent the need for substantial backtracking later on. I’m grateful for the chance to rethink my strategy to help ensure an even better outcome.

How about you? How do you view halts in progress?
