Be true to yourself.
We all, to some degree, have the tendency to people please. Other folks may have expectations for us. Or we may offer of ourselves in an attempt to get close to others or have them like us.
And it is fine to give to others or accommodate their wishes—as long as it doesn’t require us to compromise our own needs and desires or sense of self. If we give others something that diminishes us, we are telling ourselves and the rest of Creation that we don’t feel we are worthy.
Today’s message reminds me that my own integrity and self-respect is vital to my sense of well-being. I can find creative ways to give to others AND honor myself as well.
