Shed your doubt

We all second guess ourselves. Or we may lack the confidence to try things out of our norm. We’re likely afraid to fail. If we don’t go out of our comfort zones, we may reason, we won’t risk messing up.

We also tend to be our own worst critics. While we may have encountered folks who didn’t approve of or believe in us in the past, it’s likely we perform those actions against ourselves in the present. We doubt in ourselves and thereby limit our potential.

While we may not wish to do insanely risky things, without accepting some risk we’ll never grow, expand, or prosper. Risk aversion can make us stagnant.

When we do take risks, it’s possible we do so with a running critical commentary in our heads. This can cause us to self-sabotage our best attempts, making success less certain.

Today’s message advises me that when I choose to take risks (hopefully with some regularity) I’ll then want to back my play with confidence. Yes, I might fail but I’m less apt to do so when I believe in myself.

Please reflect and share. Do you support yourself with belief?
