Notes From The Furlough: Day 47

Present company is the best company.

Please discuss. How does this play out in life?

I’ll start us out. Sheltering at home has left us only interacting with direct family, or in some cases, just ourselves. We’ve been limited in our social interactions and that hasn’t always been comfortable. Introverts find the quiet refreshing; extroverts struggle for lack of stimulation. Regardless, the situation has placed more focus on the home front.

Today’s message reminds me that there were excellent reasons I chose my current life partner and my cats. It’s a fine time to appreciate their best qualities and be grateful. The same also applies to me. I’ve worked hard to become the person I am. I’ve chosen—consciously or subconsciously—my thoughts, behaviors, tendencies, and preferences. It’s also appropriate to celebrate the best parts of myself, strengthen them, and be grateful. I’m always in good company.

How about you? How has closer quarters affected your view of loved ones and yourself?
