NOTES FROM THE AWARENESS: 905

Look to your well-being.

We want to be happy. We want to be healthy. We want to be mentally and spiritually well. We want to be abundant.

We feel good when our lives embody these qualities. And yet so often we take actions that don’t support our well-being.

We worry and fret. We skip exercising. We eat junk food and miss out on our spiritual practice. We impulse spend. And then we may wonder why we don’t feel well, aren’t happy, or are short on funds.

We know on some level what we should or shouldn’t be doing. That awareness can spur us to feel badly about ourselves, which further impacts our sense of well-being.

Yes, we want to have the good habits and successful actions to support a wonderful life for ourselves. But guilt won’t get us there. We need to feel good about what we’re doing for ourselves, especially while we’re doing it.

Today’s message suggests that a shift in self-perception will help me be consistent with good self-care. When self-love motivates me to tend to my well-being, I’ll feel happy with myself and the results of my actions.

Please reflect and share. How do you feel about your self-care?
