NOTES FROM THE AWARENESS: 464

Power is about being receptive.

Please reflect and share. How does this play out for you?

We often conceptualize power in terms of strength, domination, and initiative. We think of powerful people as those who influence or order others and get things done. Power—to us—may seem to be about molding others and life to our desires.

In traditional powerful stance, we hold ourselves firm (aka rigid) and expect people and events around us to confirm to us. In doing so, we limit our possibilities. If we’re standing fast on our principles and positions, we’re not open to anything new. When we are receptive to ideas and events, we broaden the range of our potential, giving us greater ability to act, interact, and experience.

Today’s message advises me to leverage more of life by being more receptive. In allowing, I expand who I can be and what I can do. When I am open, I have greater freedom of choice.

How about you? Is it more important to you to be open or to be in control?
