See it differently

Many of us have fixed attitude and viewpoints. We feel certain of our opinions and may be unwilling to consider altering them.

Once we’ve made up our mind on a situation, we may be unlikely to change it. It is simple and easier. All we have to do is decide on the scenario once. And then we just proceed ongoing with the judgment we made.

It’s also a good way to stay stuck. Situations change. People change. We change. It’s only to be expected that we might want to revise our opinion based on new developments and information.

With any strongly held viewpoint, whether circumstances push us to review it, we may want to proactively do so. It doesn’t automatically imply that we will change our minds.

After considering the situation, individuals involved, and our own input, we may or may not feel differently than when we initially decided. But taking a fresh look will challenge any hidebound beliefs we may hold. And that’s a good thing.

Today’s message invites me to question my own beliefs. When I keep an open mind, I’m more flexible and responsive to life’s changes.

Please reflect and share. What long-held opinion might you benefit from reviewing?
